L is for LEADS

January 13th, 2010

Leads are the essential element to any business. They are the names and contact details of people who are interested in your service. Not everyone you meet is going to become a client. And while some people are ready to book an appointment with you when they first hear about you, others take a little bit longer.

Being visible in your community, meeting and listening to others who are interested in your service is critical to your success as a practitioner. And Health Shows represent an ideal opportunity to do this; but they are often an underestimated, under-utilised, and mis-handled opportunity.

An ideal customer is someone who has least resistance to your solution. Not everyone in your community is interested in holistic health. But those who are visiting a health show, are at the very least demonstrating, and indicating they have may an interest in your solution. It’s up to you then to make your stand, your offer, and your welcome attractive to those visitors.

I would suggest to you that the point of having a stand at a health shows is not to get sales. The point of having a stand at a health show, of any promotion at the end of the day is to collect leads. Then over time, you can explain your message, help them to understand what you do and build up trust. This will result in your leads becoming your clients.
