What is google saying about you?

November 17th, 2010

If someone wanted to learn more about your clinic where would they look? If the computer is on, my guess would be they’d search online.  So how would they search for you?

It is well worth “google-ing” your name or your business name, to see where you turn up, and if your website is being found.  Are you on the first page of Google, or at least on the second? I don’t know about you, but I rarely look beyond those.

If your site has been up for years and you've never updated it, remember that google likes fresh content – so adding an article or 2 everyone so often, won't do your ranking much harm!!

Google also loves Video, so putting a video on YouTube and your website, can also improve you being found!

Now, also think, if someone couldn’t remember your name, what words would they put into the search bar to describe what you do?  They might search for “massage therapist in x town”.  Or maybe they might try to find a solution for their health problem.  So spend some time this week searching for yourself on Google (and Yahoo, and Bing), and see what presence you have online.

If you don’t have a website, it is still possible to have a presence online.  Free blogs can be set up to look like a mini website, on facebook you can create a business page, and there are plenty of other website listings where you can create a professional profile that tells searchers what you do.  Google will find these too.

There are benefits to using these free services, such as they are free. However, the drawback is that if a company withdraws its service your content goes with it.  By having your own website, hosted on its own servers, then no one can suddenly disappear.

We host our websites on hostgator and works out very reasonable by buying a year or 2 in advance – works out at just $5.95 a month.  If you are interested in moving your webdomain, let me know as I have a discount coupon available. Email me at info (at) clientattractingsecrets.com

N is for New (media)

January 14th, 2010

New means something has changed, and change can be hard at times, even overwhelming. And there seems to be a lot of “new” at the moment. But if there is one thing constant in life it is that things change.

By embracing new media – having a website, email, joining social media such facebook, twitter and use video, I think that holistic practitioners will really benefit. You see we understand that “people do business with people”, and we want to connect with our audience in a powerful way. We must use as many channels as possible for others to get to know, like and trust us. So while article marketing is a powerful strategy, today’s tip is to step that up a notch! That is if we want to help more people.

Websites originally were deemed to be an “online brochure”. But today they are becoming so much more than that. Today they can be considered your store, where customers can come and buy things.

But in regular stores there are shop assistants, real people, to ask questions to, to interact with. You go to one local shop because you like the owner, and you frequent other stores because they “get you”.

Well I know that having a video of you speaking to your visitors, telling them about your solutions, that you understand what they are experiencing, and demonstrating you as the expert, is as close as you can get. It helps them to “meet” you, get to know you. By putting your message into video reaches so many more than you could ever meet in person.

Video is quick, easy and free to upload to your website. I fact you don’t even need to have your own website to have a web presence. Facebook acts like a mini site, and you can put video there too, you can have your own YouTube account too. Google loves video! Which helps your website to be found when searchers are seeking the very solutions you offer.

Today’s strategy wouldn’t be complete without a video message from me! Here’s one I recorded today, uploaded to YouTube, and put on this webpage – no charge, relatively quick, and simple! Click here to see video on YouTube

In today’s audio download I interview Perry Lawrence, video expert of ASKMrVideo.com to share with us his top tips to using video and is available now to members of Healthy Business Club. He has taken the steps used by professionals and distilled them down to an easy to use formula that guarantees better videos, each and every time.
